Description of Award
The Thomas G. Byers Outstanding Faculty Publication Award is designed to promote scholarship and recognize professional achievement of Akron Law faculty. The goal of the award is to recognize and promote legal scholarship, which in turn will enhance the reputation of the School of Law as well as the individual honoree. The award may be presented at the Law Alumni Dinner held each spring, and consists of a plaque and a $500 prize.
Criteria for Award
Any publication by an Akron Law faculty member may be submitted to the selection committee. Any materials submitted for consideration must have been published during the prior calendar year. Publications may include, but are not limited to, law review articles, articles submitted to publications for the legal community, or publications involving legal issues.
Current members of the Law Alumni Association Board of Trustees are not eligible.
Deadline for receipt of nominations for the award is December 31. The article should be submitted to: The University of Akron School of Law, Office of External Programs, Akron, Ohio 44325-2901. Those selected for a Publication Award will be contacted by the President of the Law Alumni Association or his/her designee.
